KUCHING, April 9: A fire that broke out at Jalan Kampung Buntal today destroyed two houses, along with two cars and five motorcycles, but all residents managed to escape unharmed.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Petra Jaya responded to the emergency at 3.14pm along with
assistance from the Padungan Station.
Operation commander PBK I Syed Mohd Azreen Wan Halami reported that the first house, a semi-permanent structure, was completely destroyed with an estimated area of 25 x 30 square feet.
The second, a permanent house, was also fully engulfed, covering roughly 30 x 45 square feet.
Firefighters used two 200-foot hose streams from engine pumps and auxiliary hoses, drawing water from nearby hydrants to bring the blaze under control.
The fire was contained at 4.11pm and operations concluded by 5.03pm.
No casualties were reported, and authorities confirmed all residents evacuated safely before the fire fully spread. — DayakDaily
