Two flee leaving half-eaten noodle meal on seeing police-MCO team

The noodles left behind by the two customers after seeing the police team arriving.

SIBU, Feb 5: Two customers of a noodles stall at Jalan Wawasan who were dining-in sped after seeing a police MCO enforcement team at 12noon today.

Though they had managed to run away, the police later fined the owner RM1,000 for letting his customers have their meal inside the cafe instead of offering takeaway service.

A restaurant owner at Sungai Merah Bazaar was also fined Rm1,000 as he was caught getting his premises ready for dine-in.

Sibu District Police Chief, ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit said, the police have taken compound action against the owner of the restaurant and the owner of the food stall after receiving a complaint from the council.

“Two individuals who were compounded, including the owner of the 60-year-old restaurant and the owner of the stall, 25, were given compound notices for allowing customers to eat in the shop premises,” he said.

The duo had violated the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Regulation (PPPPB) (Measures In Local Infected Areas) (No.2) 2021. -DayakDaily
