Two Covid-19 deaths reported in Sarawak including one BID

KUCHING, April 11: Two Covid-19 fatalities were reported in Sarawak today including one brought-in-dead (BID) case.

According to an update from the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), the fatality reported in Miri involved a 53-year-old male without a history of known medical illnesses who passed away in Miri Hospital on April 9, while the second fatality is a 92-year-old woman with comorbidities who was BID to Sarawak General Hospital on April 8.

Meanwhile, Sarawak also reported 178 new Covid-19 cases today, pushing the total sum of Covid-19 cases in the State to 302,635.

By case severity categories, three cases were reported in Category 3 (pneumonia), while 113 cases are under Category 2 (mild symptoms) and 62 cases under Category 1 (no symptoms).

By district, Kuching continued to report the largest gain in new cases with 56, followed by Bintulu (24), Miri (22), Sibu (19), Samarahan (13) and Bau (13).

Other districts which reported new infections were Sarikei (9), two cases each for Limbang, Pusa, Marudi, and Selangau, and one case each for Sri Aman, Serian, Lundu, Saratok, Simunjan, Kapit, Asajaya, Dalat, Pakan, Daro, Kabong, Subis, Tatau and Lubok Antu.
