Two clusters declared ended, 10 active clusters including Bungey 2 record 106 new cases

KUCHING, Sept 28: Ten out of 115 active clusters in Sarawak continue to record new cases, including the Bungey 2 wedding cluster in Betong which added 34 more cases today.

The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its daily update on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak, reported that the 10 active clusters have contributed a total of 106 cases to today’s new case total of 2,358.

The Tembok Limbang Cluster reported the highest number at 48 cases, while the Long Urun Cluster, Melaban Cluster and Pinang Cluster picked up five cases each.


The Industri Jalan Semeba Cluster registered five new cases, while the Batu 13 Jalan Puncak Borneo Cluster added two cases and the Kampung Sikog Cluster, Opar Cluster and Sibuluh-Nowang Cluster reported one case each.

SDMC also declared the end of two Covid-19 clusters todayā€”the Paon Rimu Cluster in Serian and Sungai Sangan Cluster in Tatauā€”after no new local cases were reported in the past 28 days.

As of yesterday (Sept 27), there are 37,968 active cases in Sarawak, out of which 32,083 or 84.5 per cent are under home quarantine.

A total of 4,765 individuals or 12.6 per cent of the total are in Quarantine and Low-Risk Treatment Centres (PKRCs), 1,009 patients (2.7 per cent) have been hospitalised, 64 patients (0.2 per cent) are in Intensive Care Units (ICUs) unventilated and 47 patients requiring ventilator support (0.1 per cent) in ICUs. ā€” DayakDaily
