SIBU, June 14: A special Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme will be implemented for students in Nangka constituency who failed to get good results in their 2022 Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) exam.
Nangka assemblyman Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee said the programme is for the students to further their studies in technical and skill fields.
“Since the SPM 2022 results were announced recently, many issues have arisen where there were students who did not sit for the exams and also those who got unsatisfactory results,” said Dr Annuar who is also the Deputy Minister of Education, Innovation and Talent Development I.
He said the number of those who obtained unsatisfactory results exceeded those who obtained excellent results.
However, according to him, the focus is more on those who achieved excellent results without caring about those who obtain unsatisfactory results.
Following that, he had discussed with Councilor Raden Khairulzaman Raden Bustari on Tuesday evening (June 13) on carrying out a programme focused on those who did not get satisfactory results.
“In this programme, we will bring together various TVET-based educational institutions and skill institutions for SPM graduates who are interested in continuing their studies in their respective fields.
“The Sibu District Education Office (PPD) will give us a list of students who did not get the minimum qualification to enter Form 6 or continue their studies at the diploma and matriculation level,” he explained. — DayakDaily
