KUCHING, Jan 31: Turning ideas into income, the ‘She Creates, She Sustains’ programme is helping participants create sustainable craft businesses in Bau.

Sarawak Deputy Minister of Transport and Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said participants were not only taught to be creative but also guided to ensure their creations can grow and endure over the long term.

“Programmes such as this are able to inspire and broaden the mindset of participants in developing their personal potential, especially in the field of entrepreneurship.

“This approach, which focuses on creativity and sustainability, is seen as capable of producing entrepreneurs who are more competitive and responsive to current market needs,” he said speaking at the three-day programme yesterday (Jan 30) in a news reported by Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas).

During the programme, participants were divided into groups to produce products using sustainable materials.

He said the programme encourages participants to turn heritage crafts and eco-friendly materials into sustainable businesses.

Henry also added that initiatives like this highlight the ability to turn local resources into unique, high-value products.

“This approach is not only capable of producing unique products with their own distinct identity, but also has the potential to become a key attraction in the market, as well as an important asset in building resilient and sustainable businesses in the future,” he said. — DayakDaily
