Trio arrested in Jalan Selangan Batu on suspicion of selling drugs worth RM61,020

KUCHING, Dec 26: Three people, including an Indonesian woman, were arrested during a raid on a house in Jalan Selangan Batu on Christmas eve for suspected involvement in selling drugs.

‘Syabu’ and Eramin 5 worth RM61,020, were seized.

Sarawak Narcotics CID chief Supt Hasnir Abdul Hamid revealed the trio were detained by police at 11pm.


They comprised two local men, a 25-year-old from Kuching and 27-year-old from Sibu, and a 22-year-old Indonesian woman.

The suspects were detained under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which provides a mandatory death sentence if found guilty.

“The male suspects were in the midst of packing the alleged drugs on the ground floor while the female suspect was sleeping in one of the bedrooms on the upper floor when police raided the house.

“Police discovered about 403 grammes of a crystal-like substance in 53 packets, believed go be syabu worth RM60,450 and 38 Erimin 5 pills worth RM570,” Hasnir disclosed in a statement, today.

He also revealed that one of the male suspects and woman had a history of previous criminal cases under Section 39A, while the other male suspect had a previous case under Section 39B of the same Act. — DayakDaily
