KUCHING, July 9: Business Events Sarawak (BESarawak) held its first hybrid event Tribal Gathering 2020 in conjunction with the official launching of its Trio Initiatives by Assistant Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew at Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) today.

BESarawak’s Tribal Gathering this year was an exclusive event for Sarawak’s business events industry partners to get on top the latest industry updates, strategies, tactics and developments, especially after the announcement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for business events by the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC). There were also industry partners dialing in virtually for the event, a first time for a Tribal Gathering event.

Conjointly, BESarawak acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Amelia Roziman revealed the Trio Initiatives, which comprises BESarawak’s brand new marketing campaign Tribe Legacy Sarawak, Reactivation Guidelines for Organising Business Events in Sarawak, and TriBE Digital Campus.

“One of the important components in Tribe Legacy Sarawak is all about the tribal spirit of togetherness.

“We want to show, in tribal spirit, that the entire Sarawak team is welcoming the world. The tribe spirit is made for us to promote positivity of what the industry has done for the community and also Sarawakian hospitality,” said Amelia.

Meanwhile, Amelia also highlighted another component of the new campaign which is the incentivised packages for business events planners and industry partners under the existing Sarawak Government Funding for Conventions & Exhibitions and Corporate Meetings and Incentives.

She highlighted the three packages catered for different categories, which are Tribe Acceleration, Tribe Elevation and Tribe Generation.

She also added that BESarawak and its team have come up with the Reactivation Guidelines for Organising Business Events in Sarawak which would be practised together with the SOPs suggested by SDMC.

Amelia also revealed details about the TriBE Digital Campus, better known as TriBECamp which comprises Tribe Digital Innovation for capacity building and Tribe Digital Exchange exclusive for virtual business lead generation and conversion. — DayakDaily
