Transport Minister engages industry leaders at Asia’s top aviation conference to enhance Sarawak’s connectivity

KUCHING, Feb 28: The Ministry of Transport (MOT) Sarawak is engaging with aviation industry leaders at the Aviation Festival Asia 2023 Conference in Singapore to seek opportunities and collaborations to drive the growth of the aviation sector in Sarawak.

According to a media release today, Transport Minister Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin is currently leading a delegation from the Sarawak government to attend the conference that started today until March 1.

Among the delegates include Deputy Minister for Transport Datuk Dr Jerip Susil and Ministry’s permanent secretary Dato Ir Alice Jawan Empaling.


The Sarawak delegation also had the opportunity to join a roundtable discussion with Capital A Berhad (formerly known as AirAsia) Group chief executive officer (CEO) Tan Sri Tony Fernandes to explore the possibility of enhancing Sarawak’s connectivity.

The objective of the trip is to learn and get inputs from airlines and aviation industry experts to keep up-to-date with the latest aviation trends.

Aviation Festival Asia is the region’s most important aviation technology conference and exhibition. The event is for the leaders of the world’s airlines, airports and their most senior executives in charge of software, services, sustainability, marketing, and distribution whose aim is to develop business partnerships in the Asia Region. — DayakDaily
