KUCHING, May 25: Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has assured that more robust standards for agent registration and service fees are now in place to prevent the misuse of the Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme.

In a Facebook post following the official launch of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) and the revitalised MM2H programme for the Chinese market in Beijing, China, Tiong stated: “To strengthen transparency and build applicant confidence, we have also introduced more robust standards for agent registration and service fees.

“Any violation by agents while providing the MM2H service may lead to their licence suspension or revocation in line with the law. This is a step towards enhancing governance and safeguarding the interests of applicants and partners.”

Tiong highlighted that the revamped MM2H programme now offers three tiers; Platinum, Gold, and Silver, designed to cater to the diverse aspirations and backgrounds of international applicants.

He added that the MM2H programme is no longer limited to residency purposes alone but has expanded to encompass investment, lifestyle, education, and healthcare opportunities. The programme is further supported by regional development initiatives such as the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (JS-SEZ) and the Forest City Special Financial Zone (SFZ).

“These strategic initiatives position Malaysia as an ideal gateway to the heart of Southeast Asia for global talents and investors alike,” he added.

On the VM2026 campaign, Tiong extended an invitation to all stakeholders to join in shaping a comprehensive tourism ecosystem that features innovative attractions, high-quality services, immersive experiences, and multilingual promotional efforts.

“Together, let us showcase Malaysia’s stunning natural beauty, rich multicultural heritage, historical depth, and strengths in Muslim-friendly tourism, allowing global travellers to truly experience the magic of ‘Malaysia, Truly Asia’,” he said – DayakDaily
