KUCHING, Dec 7: Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing today officiated the 20th convocation ceremony of the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (ASWARA) in Kuala Lumpur, celebrating 340 graduates poised to contribute to Malaysia’s arts, culture and heritage sectors.
In a Facebook post, Tiong said the prestigious ceremony not only marked the achievements of the graduates but also reflected ASWARA’s commitment to producing high-quality, creative and competitive talents.
He congratulated graduates from various fields, including music, dance, theatre, creative writing, film, animation and multimedia, fine arts, arts management, cultural and heritage studies, as well as postgraduate and foundation programmes.
Tiong also extended his congratulations to recipients of the Honorary Doctorate in Creative Arts, the Adiguru Award and the Rector’s Gold Award, describing them as an inspiration to the younger generation.
Highlighting the rapid growth of the creative industry, particularly in digital platforms, streaming and online content, he encouraged graduates to seize emerging opportunities and strengthen their position in the increasingly dynamic creative economy.
“I am confident you can go further. May today’s success be the beginning of a greater journey,” he said.
He also urged graduates to continue creating, inspiring and upholding the nation’s rich artistic and cultural heritage. – DayakDaily
