SIBU, Oct 1: Nine passengers including a two-year-old girl were slightly injured in a road accident along Jalan Salim-Stabau this morning.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue department said they received the call at 6.32am about an accident involving a Toyota Hiace van used to ferry passengers and a lorry.
Upon arrival, firefighters found all the victims trapped in the van, while the lorry which was allegedly parked at the side of the road was nowhere to be seen.
Firefighters used specialised tools to cut the van’s door in order to remove all the trapped victims.
All of the victims, aged between two and 63, suffered minor injuries. They were later sent to Sibu Hospital for treatment. — DayakDaily
