KUCHING, Sept 15: Registration for the first Virtual International Youth Communication Camp organised by the Kuching Toastmasters Club is now open to Malaysians and youth from abroad.
The one-day camp which is scheduled for October 9, is an offshoot of the club’s annual series, first initiated in 2012 and put on hold for the past two years due to the haze and the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. Previous camps, covering Speech Writing and Presentation, Team Building and Talents Showcasing were held over three days and two nights in face-to-face environments.
According to the camp organising chairman Sahil Singh Dev, in response to popular requests and continuing support from camp patron Datuk Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah who is also the Minister for Tourism, Arts, Culture, Youth and Sports, the Kuching Toastmasters Club has decided to continue with the series which has benefited over thousands of youth since the camp’s inception.
“We are greatly gratified with the impact we have made upon the campers and the camp is our club’s contribution to the community at large,” said Sahil Dev.
Contests will follow the camp and cash prizes will be awarded.
