BINTULU, June 10: Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president Dato Seri Tiong King Sing retained his post uncontested in the party’s Triennial General Assembly (TGA) at Dinner World Restaurant here today.
Tiong’s renewed term is for another three years, from 2023 until 2026.
Tiong who has been the president since 2016, is also the Bintulu Member of Parliament (MP) and Dudong assemblyman.
In December last year, Tiong was appointed as the Malaysian Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture.
At the same assembly, Sarawak’s Deputy Minister of Transport (Maritime and Riverine) and Tasik Biru assemblyman Dato Henry Harry Jinep won uncontested as the new deputy president, replacing the outgoing Datuk Anthony Nogeh.
Meanwhile, Marudi assemblyman Datuk Penguang Manggil and Meluan assemblyman Rolland Duat Jubin were appointed the Senior Vice President I and Senior Vice President II, respectively.
The assembly also appointed Baram MP Dato Anyi Ngau as the PDP’s secretary general, replacing Datuk Nelson Balang Rining.
Over 600 delegates and observers attended the PDP’s TGA. — DayakDaily
