KUCHING, Dec 16: The constituents of N69 Kemena must help Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) defend the seat to ensure continued development.
Bintulu MP Dato Sri Tiong King Sing in stating this, called upon the community of Kemena to continue their support for GPS leadership under Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg by voting for Kemena incumbent Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom come polling day on Dec 18.
Should there be any shortcomings in public services for the people in the past term, Tiong said he apologises on behalf of elected representatives of areas in the Bintulu Division.
“As the chairman of GPS Bintulu zone, it is clear that I am responsible if any of my ‘children’ fail to provide services to the people in need.
“I also call on members of all GPS component parties to work together to ensure the success of the coalition in maintaining its mandate in PRN12 (12th Sarawak State Election),” he said in a statement today.
Tiong, who is also GPS candidate for N52 Dudong, said he would do his best for longhouses in Bintulu area, despite his disappointment following the discovery that a handful of residents in three Kemena longhouses had shifted their support to Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB).
On a related matter, Tiong urged PSB candidate for Kemena Dr Bernard Tahim to use the right platform and professionalism to get involved in politics. — Dayakdaily
