KUCHING, Dec 9: Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has reminded the people, especially those in Sibu not to bet on the results of the 12th Sarawak Election.

He gathered that there were already betting activities being initiated for the results of N52 Dudong seat, which he is contesting in the 12th Sarawak Election.

“Do not waste your money especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. Save the money for your family because we do not know what will happen tomorrow.

“There are winners and loses in betting. If one wins, one can have a big feast but if one loses, the whole family will be affected,” he said in a statement yesterday.

At the same time, Tiong appealed to enforcement officers to go to the ground to check and arrest those who are opening up gambling centres.

Tiong is facing an eight-cornered fight for the Dudong seat, the most in the election.

He will be up against Paul Ling (Democratic Action Party), Engga Unchat (Parti Bangsa Malaysia), Julius Enchana (Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru), Josephine Lau (Sarawak People’s Aspiration Party), Wong Hie Ping (Parti Sarawak Bersatu), Jane Lau (Parti Bumi Kenyalang) and Fadhil Mohd Isa (independent).

The Dudong constituency has a total of 34,955 voters with two of them being overseas voters. — DayakDaily
