Tiong: Election promises will materialise, this is not ‘Kong Kali Kong’ talk

KUCHING, Dec 13: Voters in N81 Ba’Kelalan have been assured that election promises will be materialised, if they choose Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) candidate Sam Laya, said Datuk Sri Tiong King Sing.

Tiong, who is Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) president, said they fielded Sam because the latter is ready for the challenges and struggles ahead.

“This is not a ‘Kong Kali Kong’ talk. We will walk the talk. Do not doubt Sam.

“As your representative, he will remain with you to ensure promises are delivered,” Tiong said during a ‘meet the people session’ at Long Tengoa in Trusan today.

He reminded the locals that it is not practical for the Opposition to channel any development or even welfare assistance if their representative does not come from the ruling government.

Tiong then urged them to work closely with the government to ensure they will not be deprived of any benefits.

“I call on the voters to stand firm behind Sam this Saturday (Dec 18) to prove their loyalty and trust towards the government,” Tiong said.

He also gave similar advice to the villagers of Kampung Pengalih and Long Tuma today.

Sam who is contesting for the first time is facing a five-cornered fight against Ba’kelalan incumbent Baru Bian (PSB) who will be defending the seat, Martin Samuel Labo (PKR), Peter Asut (PBK) and independent candidate Agnes Padan. — DayakDaily
