Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds expected in Southern Sarawak, coastal areas

KUCHING, Sept 6: The Malaysia Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for parts of Sarawak this afternoon.

Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in Samarahan, Sri Aman (Sri Aman), Betong (Saratok and Kabong), Sarikei (Sarikei), Mukah (Tanjung Manis, Matu, Dalat and Mukah) and Kapit (Song) this afternoon according to a MetMalaysia notice at 1.50 pm today. The notice is valid until 4pm today.

“A thunderstorm warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with rain intensity exceeding 20 mm/hour that is close or expected to last for more than an hour,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
