KUCHING, March 31: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for several areas in Sarawak this evening.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds affecting Kuching (Kuching), Serian, Kapit (Kapit), Bintulu, Miri (Subis, Beluru, Miri and Marudi) and Limbang.
The warning, issued at 8.15pm today, remains in effect until 11pm.
A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a maximum of six hours per release. — DayakDaily
