Thunderstorm warnings for central, northern Sarawak to persist until 7pm

KUCHING, June 8: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) have extended thunderstorm warnings across central and northern Sarawak, which is expected to last until 7pm.

According to the advisory notice released by MetMalaysia at 3.30pm, Sibu (Selangau), Mukah (Dalat and Mukah), Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Telang Usan) and Limbang are listed as the areas affected by the rainy weather.

Based on the Facebook post, the warning is only issued when there are signs of thunderstorms with rain intensity exceeding 20mm an hour or with a downpour that is expected to occur for more than an hour.
