KUCHING, Oct 6: Thunderstorm alerts have been issued for 11 districts in Sarawak until 3pm today.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in an advisory notice issued at 12.50pm today, said the affected districts are Sri Aman, Sarikei, Julau, Meradong, Sibu, Mukah, Daro, Matu, Dalat, Kapit, and Song.

According to the department, the weather conditions are expected to include heavy rain and strong wind.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per issuance,” it added. — DayakDaily
