KUCHING, Oct 5: An adverse weather alert was issued for 11 districts throughout Sarawak until 5pm.
Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) in an advisory notice issued at 2.45pm said the affected districts are Kuching, Samarahan, Betong, Mukah, Daro, Matu, Dalat, Miri, Subis, Marudi, and Limbang.

The department said expected weather conditions are thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong wind.
“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20mm/hour approaching or expected to last for more than an hour.
“A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per issuance,” it added. — DayakDaily
