Three wounded in two separate accidents

MIRI, Sept 18: Three people were reported wounded in two separate accidents occurring on Monday evening (Sept 17).

In the first accident which occurred along the Miri-Bintulu road, a male driver of a Perodua Kancil, 44, injured his forehead and left knee as a result of being pierced by a sharp object in the 4.45pm incident.

The man was travelling alone when he suddenly lost control of the car and skidded off the road before crashing onto another moving car.

Both cars were heading in the same direction from the town area towards the airport when the crash happened near the Taman Bumiko junction here.

A team of three Malaysia Civil Defence Department (JPAM) personnel was immediately rushed to the scene after being alerted of the crash.

Meanwhile, less than two hours later, an unrelated accident took place near the Taman Bulatan roundabout, involving a motorcyclist and his pillion rider who were injured in a rear-end collision.

In the 6pm incident, the rider and his pillion rider hit by a car as they were navigating along the Taman Bulatan roundabout heading towards Piasau.

The collision threw both of them off the motorcycle onto the roadside.

Both sustained bodily injuries while the car driver was unharmed. The former were taken by Miri Hospital by JPAM personnel for medical treatment. — DayakDaily
