KUCHING, Nov 5: Three-term incumbent Datuk Henry Sum Agong (GPS-PBB) will be defending his P222 Lawas seat against Baru Bian (PSB) and Japar Suyut (PH-PKR).

Baru, who is Selangau incumbent, has decided not to defend his fortress but shifted sails to Lawas, which is over 500km up to the northern region of Sarawak.

All eyes will be on Henry as to how he guards his stronghold against Baru, who is Ba’kelalan assemblyman and PSB’s newly elected secretary-general.

Looking back in time, it seems that Japar was an old rival of Henry back in the 2008 general election, where Henry managed a victory in a straight fight with 7,792 majority votes. — DayakDaily
