KUCHING, Aug 6: Three men were injured in a road crash involving a Toyota Hilux and a Proton Saga along Jalan Dato Sri Joseph Balan Seling in Pujut 7, Miri, early this morning.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), its Lutong station was alerted at 5.48am and arrived at the scene, about 13km away, by 6.02am.
Upon arrival, firefighters found that two victims were trapped inside the Proton Saga while the driver of the Toyota Hilux sustained body pain but was not pinned in the vehicle.
The operation commander, PBK I Ramlee Sahari, led a team of six personnel and one fire engine (FRT) to the site. They successfully extricated the two trapped victims from the Proton Saga by opening the rear door and rescued the Hilux victim using a stretcher.
All three injured victims were handed over to the Ministry of Health (KKM) paramedics for further treatment. The team then proceeded to clean up the accident site and left after ensuring it was safe.
The operation concluded at 6.40am. Also present at the scene were personnel from the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and KKM. — DayakDaily
