SERIAN, Dec 18: A fire damaged four houses in Kampung Murud Plaman here on Wednesday (Dec 17) morning, but no casualties were reported.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Serian and Siburan responded to the emergency at 10.59am and promptly dispatched teams to the scene.
According to the final report, three of the houses were about 90 per cent destroyed in the blaze, while a fourth house was successfully saved, sustaining only minor smoke damage estimated at about five per cent.
Firefighters deployed an initial attack hose line and an additional 200-foot hose line using two nozzles, with water supplied from fire engines.
The blaze was successfully brought under control, and overhaul works were carried out to ensure the area was safe and posed no further danger.
The affected houses were occupied by several families, including adults, elderly residents, children and an infant. All occupants managed to escape unharmed. — DayakDaily
