MIRI, May 8: ‘Ikan bilis’ (dried anchovies) weighing 10kg and worth RM300 were reported stolen from a shop in Tudan, here, early yesterday morning.
The shop owner, in his 40s, discovered the theft when he opened his shop at about 6am.
This is not the first time such a theft happened. Since last month, the shop was broken into thrice before and each time, 10kg of anchovies were stolen, raking up RM1,200 in total losses to date.
According to sources, the premise’s surveillance camera captured images of a chubby-sized man sneaking into the shop; hence, he is the prime suspect.
At press time, no suspect has been detained. — DayakDaily
