KUCHING, Nov 14: tHe Spring shopping mall lit up the iconic glitzy outdoor Christmas tree at its main entrance earlier tonight, inviting shoppers to get into the mood for the Christmas season next month.

Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng was present to do the honour of lighting up the huge decoration in front of about 100 shoppers.

Partnering with Maxis, the shopping mall has decked the halls with the grandest, brightest, and most Instagrammable Christmas decorations imaginable for the ‘Christmas Wanderlust’ theme from Nov 11 to Dec 25.

Apart from the Christmas tree, visitors can see the gigantic ‘Weihnachtspyramide’ or Christmas Pyramids and the vibrant German-inspired Christmas Market.

“I would like to thank tHe Spring for creating a platform for local entrepreneurs to display (or sell) their products.

“One thing that catches me is the packaging. I think we are in that standard already.

“That is why I told Sarawak Tourism Board (STB) chief executive officer Sharzede Salleh Askor just now that it is time for us to concentrate on our local products because I think every time we go aboard, we need to give some gifts for our guests,” he told the press at the event.

He also said MBKS would look into how the council can further assist young entrepreneurs in the future.

The mall is also abuzz with fun-filled Christmas experiences, including festive earring-making workshops, Christmas wreath workshops, Christmas choirs, dance performances, and the Christmas Wanderlust Kids Party.

Shoppers can sign their little ones up for these workshops and the kids’ party at the Customer Service Counter or online at tHe Spring’s website.

Meanwhile, those who spend a total of RM200 using their Boost eWallet with a minimum spend of RM20 for each transaction from Nov 15 to Dec 4 will be eligible to book their chance to meet Santa Claus on Dec 9, 10, and 11 on tHe Spring’s web app.

Those who love online shopping will be in for a treat as the mall’s online shopping platform will be dishing out the best Christmas deals and steals from tenants.

From Dec 13 to 24, shoppers are encouraged to keep their eyes out for the Christmas gift guides and festive giveaways that will be revealed via tHe Spring’s Social Media Advent Calendar, which is happening across all the social media platforms.

To liven up the shopping experience this holiday season, shoppers are treated to the Christmas Wanderlust Redemption, where they can collect Shopping Miles via tHe Spring’s Web App when they spend RM350 in single or combined receipts in any store, both mall-wide and online where each receipt submitted must be a minimum of RM20.

A collection of festive goodies from the Christmas Wanderlust Redemption include tHe Spring’s Christmas Wrapping Papers paired with Maxis RM15 Cash Voucher, Vala x tHe Spring Travel Candle and lastly, tHe Spring’s Christmas Wanderlust Travel Kit which features five travel essentials: The Face Shop’s Therapy Vegan Toner, Belif Numero 10 Essence, Sukin Botanical Body Wash, L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil and Cherry Blossom Hand Cream.

The shopping mall has also collaborated with Hope Place Kuching for ‘Pocketful of Hope’, of which shoppers can purchase items and submit their donations to the Customer Service Counter.

Once the collection drive is over, the mall will hand the collected items to Hope Place Kuching to be donated to urban poor households.

Also present were STB chief executive officer Sharzede Salleh Askor, PE Holdings Group of Companies group managing director James Ling, deputy managing director Ronald Ling and tHe Spring Management Services Sdn Bhd general manager Datin Christine Ling. — DayakDaily
