KUCHING, July 22: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg revealed that although the passing of his wife left a profound impact on him, it is the strength and spirit of the people of Sarawak that makes him want to keep serving.
In a TVS report, he said that today was the first day he had met with the Miri community without his wife by his side.
“God loves her more. Our family accepts this with an open heart, and my strength now comes from the people of Sarawak, who have become my loyal partners,” he said.
Abang Johari made this statement during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Marina Bridge in Miri today.
He believes that all the sacrifices made by his late wife over the years will also be rewarded, as her unwavering support has been instrumental throughout his tenure as the State’s leader.
On June 23, Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tun Tuanku Bujang passed away at 3.34am at the Normah Medical Specialist Centre in Kuching. She was 76.
