SIBU, Oct 20: A significant portion of the town is set to experience water supply disruptions next Thursday, Oct 26.

According to the Sibu Water Board (SWB), the water supply disruption is scheduled to last for four to six hours, commencing at 10pm.

Among the affected areas are Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce (Jlan Salim Bypass) – Lanes 60 to 66 (including Petronas Station), Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman (Lorong Tunku Abdul Rahman 42, Rh Sebastian, Jalan Rafflesia, Jalan Jade Villa, Taman Azalea, Sanhill Park, Sibu Airport, and Eco Garden), as well as Sibu Jaya.

Other areas include Jalan Durin Link to Durin Bridge, Jalan Nibong Tada (including Nibong Tada JBABLB pump booster station), Kemuyang Park, Camp Rascom, Rh Nari, and Sibu/Bintulu traffic lights.

The water supply disruption is necessary due to pipe modification works and electrical cable modifications for the project aimed at adding treated water pumps at the Salim Phase II Water Treatment Plant.

The SWB advises users to ensure they have an adequate supply of water for their needs during the period of the water supply interruption.

“We will make every effort to complete the work as soon as possible, and the water supply will gradually be restored in the affected areas. If weather conditions do not permit, the work will be carried out the following day,” the board stated today.

SWB also encourages the public to contact the Sibu Water Board Service Line at 013-8106311 for any inquiries. — DayakDaily
