MIRI, April 26: A total of 132 non-teaching staff and teachers in Baram district received their ‘Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang’ (APC) here today.

Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau, who officiated at the function, commended the recipients for being committed to their job of educating rural children despite the many challenges they faced.

“Schools in the rural areas, especially those in Baram, face many challenges, including those that are geographical in nature, poor working conditions and lack of resources compared to those in the urban areas,” he said.

“This APC (Excellent Service Award) is recognition of your hard work and dedication. Well done.”

On another matter, Dennis reminded the teachers to keep abreast with technology.

“In order to be competitive, as we are heading toward the Industry 4.0 revolution, we must become technologically savvy,” he said.

At the event, Dennis pledged grants totalling RM23,000 for the APC Baram, to Baram District Principal Association and to Baram Headmaster Council Board.
