Teenager killed in motorcycle-truck collision at Tudan traffic light

MIRI, March 9: A tragic collision between a motorcycle and a cement mixer truck claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy late Friday evening at the Tudan traffic light intersection.

Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu reported that the incident occurred around 5.45pm when both vehicles had come to a halt at the traffic signal.


“As the traffic light changed to green and the lorry began to move, he heard a loud noise,” he stated in a release today.

Photos of the scene of the accident depict the motorcycle crushed beneath the wheels of the cement mixer.

Unfortunately, the rider of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from Miri Hospital.

The case is now under investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

The police are urgently appealing to witnesses of the accident to step forward and provide any pertinent details to aid in their inquiries.
