Teenage goes missing after jumping over Quap Bridge

KUCHING, Feb 24: A teenager went missing after he alleged to have jumped into a river over Quap Bridge, here, this morning.
The suspected suicide incident, which involved a 17-year-old boy, happened at around 8am.
According to the victim’s family, the boy asked them to stop the car when reaching the bridge.
The family said when the car stopped, the victim came out from the car and went straight to jump into the river. The victim was seen washed away by the current.
The Fire and Rescue Department was contacted immediately immediately, where search for the victim was initiated upon arrival.
The Water Rescue Unit (PPDA) was also contacted and is on standby mode to render any assistance in search of the victim.
