MIRI, March 28: A 17 year-old divorcee claims that she was raped by two men, one of which is her own uncle.
The alleged incident was said to have taken place at a longhouse in Sungai Teniku here on March 5, said city police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah when met today.
“We have yet to arrest the suspects, of whom one is the victim’s uncle, and the other her neighbour at the longhouse,” said Lim.
A police report on the incident was lodged by the victim at Miri Central police station (CPS) on March 27.
“The victim alleged she was raped by these two suspects on the same day,..the second incident happened one hour after the first suspect raped her,” he said.
Lim added, the first incident occurred around 12pm on March 5.
“While sleeping in the living room, the first suspect came and laid down next to her before allegedly raping the victim, and one hour later, the second suspect came and did the same thing,” said Lim.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the girl is a divorcee and has been staying with her mother at the longhouse for the past six months after her divorce.
The case is being investigated under Section 376 of the Penal Code for rape. — DayakDaily
