KUCHING, March 3: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng has called for joint efforts from all parties in combating drug abuse within the community.

Wee said working together to address the issue would help to create a safer and healthier environment for everyone.

ā€œAs the mayor of Kuching South, I am committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all our residents.

ā€œDrug abuse not only poses a threat to an individual’s health but also undermines the fabric of our community,ā€ he said when attending an anti-drug awareness campaign with residents of KMC Flat in Jalan Ban Hock here today.

Meanwhile, on the campaign, Wee said the purpose of the program is to raise awareness and educate the community about the dangers of drug abuse, which requires a collective effort.

He added that by empowering individuals with knowledge and equipping them with resources, they are able to make informed decisions and resist the temptations of substance abuse. ā€” DayakDaily
