KUCHING, May 20: A secondary school teacher Gerdashlie Bodos has emerged as ‘Champion of Champions’ at the Mr Kuching 2023 bodybuilding competition held at Sarawak Youth and Sports Complex here today.
The 36-year-old Bidayuh will represent Kuching Division at the Sarawak-level Mr Sarawak 2023 Bodybuilding Championships on July 1 following the win.
Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, who is the Sarawak Bodybuilding Association (SBBA) president, presented the trophy to the champion at the event.
In his speech, Wee said the ‘Champion of Champions’ trophy is named the ‘Soloman Cup’ after Sarawak’s bodybuilding pioneer, the late Soloman Esmanto, who was a native of Kuching City.
“For this, I would like to thank Kuching Division Bodybuilding Association (KDBBA) for taking up the suggestion to name the title after one of our bodybuilding legends,” he said.
At the same time, he informed that Mr Miri 2023 and Mr Sibu 2023 would be held on June 11 and June 17, respectively.
