KUCHING, Dec 10: A teacher and two boys were among eight people rescued by firefighters today after rising floodwaters affected Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kampung Nyalau.
Fire and Rescue Station Samalaju received a direct emergency call at 8.34am reporting that three families were stranded by floodwaters.
According to Operations Commander PPgB Irwin Abidin, the rescue team arrived at 8.46am and found the victims, comprising three adult men, three adult women and two boys, still at the location.
Bomba deployed an aluminium rescue boat to reach the families safely. Firefighters transferred all eight people into the boat before bringing them to nearby relatives’ homes. — DayakDaily
