KUCHING, Feb 14: The Tangap Sub-Cluster in Subis, Miri, contributed the most number of cases in the state today, as a total of 24 Indonesian workers together with 36 local individuals were tested positive for Covid-19.
According to the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in a press statement today, the Tangap Sub-Cluster which is under the Pasai Cluster, is centred on a construction workers’ camp in Subis district in Miri.
In Sibu, 39 cases were detected via active case detection (ACD), five cases from symptomatic screening and one from voluntary screening.
In Bintulu, 13 cases were confirmed via ACD, two cases from ACD in Covid-19 risk area, and one from symptomatic screening.
Meanwhile in Kapit, six cases were detected via ACD, five cases from the Pasai Cluster, two cases from voluntary screening, one from ACD in Covid-19 risk area, and one other involving symptomatic screening.
In Samarahan, 11 cases were detected via ACD and one from symptomatic screening.
For Miri, five cases were detected via ACD, while Julau recorded two cases involving the Nanga Lijan Cluster.
In Kuching, one case was confirmed via voluntary screening test, with the case categorised as an Import C case after it was determined the patient contracted the infection from Kapit.
In Sri Aman, one case involved a medical personnel in Sri Aman health facilities and was categorised as an Import C case, with the infection taking place in Sibu.
For Saratok, one case was recorded involving a symptomatic screening test, followed by one case in Pakan via ACDand one case in Beluru involving the Seruas Cluster. — DayakDaily
