KUCHING, Feb 16: The Samarahan Health Office is conducting an active case detection (ACD) exercise to identify Covid-19 cases at Taman Univista, Kota Samarahan today.

According to a notice from the Samarahan Divisional Disaster Management Committee (DDMC) yesterday, the ACD will be carried out today (Feb 16) from 8:30 am until 3 pm.

The police from the Samarahan district office will conduct movement control at Taman Univista until the ACD exercise is completed.

Residents of Taman Univista are urged to cooperate by staying at home.

Yesterday, the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) revealed that there were 12 cases of Covid-19 identified from active contact tracing to Covid-19 patients in Samarahan district and this brought the cumulative cases in the district to 39 in the past 14 days.

SDMC chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas told reporters yesterday that the ACD and Targeted Enhanced Movement Control Order (TEMCO) were the most effective methods to identify and contain Covid-19.

With ACD and TEMCO, Uggah explained that the population in the whole area or village will be screened to identify Covid-19 positive cases. — DayakDaily
