KUCHING, June 30: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Raghad Kurdi Taib today donated six cows as sacrificial meat to the less fortunate as well as Astana staff in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidiladha celebration.
Senior administrative officer Riziandy Nawawi received the donation on behalf of Astana staff.
“We are very grateful to both Tun and Toh for donating this sacrificial meat for Astana staff as well as the ‘asnaf’ (less fortunate) living nearby the Astana.
“We would also like to wish both Tun and Toh Puan Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha and we hoped Allah will continue to bless them and their family on this special religious celebration,” Riziandy said at the simple sacrificial meat distribution ceremony held at the Astana carpark this morning.
Present at the ceremony were staff members of the Astana.
The sacrificial meat were distributed to 135 families in three villages in Serian, namely Kampung Darul Falah (28 packages), Kampung Darul Huda (25 packages) and Kampung Darul Iman (54 packages).
The sacrificial meat were also distributed to 28 families in Balai Ringin area as well as Surau Hayatul Islam, Kampung Panglima Seman, Sadong Jaya Youth Club and Masjid Muttaqin, Kota Samarahan. — DayakDaily
