KUCHING, Nov 3: A student of Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak (Swinburne) has tested positive for Covid-19.
Swinburne in an official statement disclosed the student, who tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday (Nov 2) was in a small face-to-face class with another student and a lecturer on Oct 27.
Both the second student and the lecturer were classified as Persons-Under-Investigation (PUI) and are undergoing testing and self-quarantine for 14 days.
Swinburne also revealed the affected areas on campus have been cleaned and sanitised and all contacts with them were quarantined at home in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
The university added classes will continue to be conducted online with physical classes suspended from Oct 28 until further notice in accordance with the Education Ministry’s guidelines.
“We are continually monitoring the situation to ensure the whole of our community remains safe,” the statement read. — DayakDaily
