KUCHING, Oct 18: Kuching South City Council (MBKS) will hold its Electrical and Electronic Waste Collection (BEE) buyback campaign at the MBKS Community Hall compound tomorrow (Oct 19) from 8.30am to 4pm.
MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, in announcing the event, encouraged the public to participate in the e-waste collection campaign.
“You will be paid in cash for your e-waste, so please bring all your unused waste to the MBKS Community Hall tomorrow,” he said during a press conference at the MBKS building here today.
Examples of e-waste include computers, mobile phones, televisions, washing machines, air conditioners, refrigerators, cameras, projectors, and small household electrical appliances.
The price for each piece of e-waste will range from RM1 to RM10.
The BEE collection campaign is co-organised by MBKS, Natural Resources Environmental Board (NREB), Department of Environment (DOE), and Trienekens (Sarawak) Sdn Bhd, in conjunction with the National Environment Day celebration, observed annually on Oct 21. — DayakDaily
