S’wakian talents to showcase fashion design, arts for Shan Charity Night to raise fund for underprivileged

Shan Charity Night will be held at tHe Spring on March 5, 2023.

KUCHING, Feb 19: The Shan Charity Night event is set to feature Sarawakian talents in fashion design and arts on March 5 to raise funds for the underprivileged.

Jointly organised by GOG and 852 Film, the event will be held at tHe Spring Shopping Mall to raise fund for House of Joy, which is a non-profit charitable home which administers shelter, care and training to underprivileged orphans, children and teens.


Project manager Smyth Wong said apart from that, the fund will also be used to help members of the Chinese community struggling with poverty, including monetary means to buy basic necessities, pay bills, and improve overall living conditions.

He said this during a press conference at Li Garden Restaurant in CityOne Megamall here today.

He added, the event is also part of the promotion for the Rajah movie.

Sarawakian fashion designers participating in the event are TeeCode, Tangoo, Yacutha, Keith Sim, Outdwell, and Pungu Borneo. There will also be a photo gallery by Edwin Ong, an art gallery by Angelina Bong, and musical performances by Chien Chien, Raquel, Ivan, Nick, Eddies, Ke Tong, and Meruked.

Special appearances by international stars are also expected at the event, namely Shaheizy Sam and Bront Palarae from Malaysia, Atiqah Hasiholan and Samo Rafael from Indonesia, and Josie Ho and Conroy Chan from Hong Kong.

Among others, Miss World Malaysia 2022 Wenanita Angang, Miss Universe Malaysia 2022 Tee Wan Ying, Miss World Malaysia 2018 Larissa Ping, Cheongsam Malaysia 2016 Saphire Wong Miss and Malaysian supermodel and entrepreneur Amber Chia will also be present at the event.
