S’wakian Mohd Rifdean takes down Thailand’s Pichai Lookbanmai with TKO in ONE Championship

KUCHING, March 23: Sarawakian Muay Thai fighter Mohd Rifdean Masdor took down Thailand’s Pichai Lookbanmai with a technical knockout in the first round at the ONE Championship.

According to a news report from TV Sarawak (TVS) today, Mohd Ridfean, who is representing Sor Sommai Headhunter Academy Ipoh, only took one minute and 19 seconds to secure the victory in the Catchweight category, bagging a 350,000 Baht cash prize, equivalent to RM45,854.


For the record, Mohd Rifdean has previously won the IFMA Muaythai Senior World Championship U23 2023 Thailand in the 51kg category, IFMA Muaythai World Senior U23 champion 2022 Abu Dhabi in the 48kg category, IFMA Muaythai World Senior U23 champion 2021 Thailand in the 48kg category, IFMA Muaythai World Youth Champion 2019 Turkiye in the 45kg category, including winning gold medals in the Philippine Sea Games 2019 (45kg), and in the Malaysian Games (SUKMA) 2018/2022.

Apart from Mohd Rifdean, several other Sarawak athletes also performed brilliantly in the One Championship stage, namely Kabilan Jelevan from the Rentap Muaythai Gym, including the sensational athlete Johan Ghazali, who represented Sarawak. — DayakDaily
