S’wak TYT, Premier congratulate Sultan Ibrahim following installation ceremony as 17th King of Malaysia

KUCHING, July 20: Sarawak Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, congratulated His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, who has been sworn in as the 17th King of Malaysia today.

According to a news report by TV Sarawak (TVS), Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg and his wife also conveyed a similar message on behalf of Sarawakians.

“May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala bless His Majesty’s leadership,” he said in a Facebook post today.

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian also congratulated His Majesty on his installation.

The coronation ceremony took place in the Seri Hall of the Istana Negara in Kuala Lumpur and was attended by approximately 700 guests, including the Malay rulers, governors, and foreign dignitaries and leaders.

Among others, Sultan of Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and Senior Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong were also present.

Sultan Ibrahim swore and signed the Oath as the 17th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Jan 31 for five years until Jan 30, 2029.

His Majesty replaced Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, who ended his tenure as the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Jan 30 this year, after a five-year reign since Jan 31, 2019. — DayakDaily
