According to a press release, the market will offer an immersive cultural experience across both locations, featuring traditional cooking demonstrations, community Iftar gatherings, and live performances.
In Miri, the festivities will begin with a Bubur Pedas cooking demonstration by Persatuan Melayu Miri on the 22nd, followed by a traditional kuih-making workshop on the 23rd.
Over in Sibu, the event will feature a Bubur Lambuk cooking demonstration by Kampung Bahagia Jaya Teku village, security, and development committee (JKKK) on the first day, with a kuih-making workshop on the following evening.
“These sessions will not only showcase local delicacies but also allow visitors to take part in the preparation and distribution of food, fostering a spirit of sharing and togetherness,” said STB.
To enhance the community experience, the Iftar Santai with the Community programme will provide an opportunity for visitors to breakfast together, with designated prayer spaces available.
As the evening unfolds, Malam Budaya Alunan Ramadhan will bring the market to life with cultural and musical performances.

Meanwhile, its chief executive officer, Datu Sharzede Salleh Askor, emphasised the significance of this initiative, stating, “The Visitors’ Information Centres in Miri and Sibu are more than just places for tourism information; they are spaces where people can come together to celebrate traditions, connect through food and music. and be close to the community.
“The Ramadhan Mubarak Market is another step in our mission to make these VICs dynamic and community-driven,” she said.
Admission is free, and visitors are encouraged to bring their own floor mats for seating during Iftar. A prayer room will be available, and attendees are kindly reminded to help keep the gardens clean and welcoming for all. — DayakDaily
