“This event will serve as a major platform for knowledge exchange, project collaboration, and the development of the engineering fraternity at the Asia-Pacific level.

“The presence of the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, as the guest of honour will highlight Sarawak’s role in the regional engineering arena,” Liew said to reporters at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly building here today.

Liew further said the assembly will bring together top engineering bodies from Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong and new members from Dubai.

“With the involvement of 23 countries, this event will not only strengthen professional ties between regional engineering institutions but also provide an opportunity for Malaysia and Sarawak to showcase local expertise and build strategic collaborations with other member countries,” Liew said.

Meanwhile, 1,750 participants are expected at the IEM Engineers Run 2025 this Sunday (Nov 30), encouraging engineers and the public to stay fit. — DayakDaily
