During the visit, Mancha expressed his appreciation to the Premier, the State government and the people of Sarawak for their support, trust, and cooperation throughout his tenure as the State’s police chief.

“During my service in Sarawak, I am truly grateful for the acceptance shown by the community and the close cooperation forged, particularly in safeguarding the safety and well-being of the State,” he said.

Reflecting on his 39-year career in the force, Mancha began his service in Perak with the VAT69 Special Forces unit for nearly 30 years before being promoted and transferred to Sabah, where he served for more than three years as deputy commander of the General Operations Force (GOF) Sabah Brigade.

He later held the position of commander of the GOF Sarawak Brigade from 2000 to 2001 before being appointed as Sarawak Deputy Police Commissioner in 2021 until 2023.

He added that crime rates in Sarawak remained under control during his tenure as State police commissioner from 2023 to 2025, thanks to the cooperation of all parties, including the community.

“I am confident my successor will continue the efforts to safeguard the peace and security of the people of Sarawak,” he said. — DayakDaily
