KUCHING, Feb 4: Sarawak plans to offer river cruise services to boost domestic tourism activities once the study is completed.

Deputy Minister of Transportation (Maritime and Riverine) Dato Henry Harry Jinep said however, there is still a need for feasibility studies to be conducted on the route, including identifying the natural attractions and possible obstacles involving small boats, as well as ensuring the safety of passengers.

He said this when met by reporters at a local hotel here yesterday (Feb 3).

According to the Tasik Biru assemblyman, he suggested to the Sarawak Rivers Board (SRB) to go on a boat cruise on Feb 23, together with his ministry, on the proposed route, which is from Satok bridge to Siniawan.

He added the route had been included in the Bau Tourism Report, and a study of it has already been made. — DayakDaily
