KUCHING, Feb 11: The Sarawak Islamic Council is calling on all Muslims in Sarawak to come together to provide financial aid to the earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.
In a statement, the Sarawak Islamic Council expressed grief over the earthquake that affected people in Turkey and Syria.
They could do so by channelling donations through their ‘Friday Sadaq Collection’ on Feb 10 and 17 at mosques and surau throughout Sarawak.
It also said that all welfare trust boards or mosque and surau management committees in Sarawak are required to implement the relevant collection and channel to the bank account and state the payment reference as ‘Turkiye Syria’ to the following account:

Contributions in person by any individual should also be channelled directly to the account mentioned.
